7. I am trying to update my membership, but am not able to select my new belt rank.
There are some reasons that could be causing this problem:
1. There is no history of the athlete’s previous belt promotion. Example: The athlete is applying for a membership as a brown belt, but the athlete only has registration history as a blue belt in our system
2. Athlete does not fulfill minimum time requirement for the previous belt rank since registering that belt rank with IBJJF. For more information regarding the minimum time requirements for each belt, please see the IBJJF Graduation System .
3. The athlete does not meet the age requirements to obtain the belt. Ex: A 14 year old athlete trying to apply for a blue belt.
Each case must be analyzed individually by IBJJF. For this reason, it is necessary that you send an email to membership@ibjjf.com reporting your problem.
