In jiu-jitsu, there are tournaments, and then there are events that transcend the sport itself and become a celebration of the jiu-jitsu lifestyle. The 2023 World Masters, hosted as a part of Jiu-Jitsu CON, was one such event that left a lasting impression on the jiu-jitsu community. With competitors spanning from their thirties to their seventies, this gathering of seasoned practitioners was a testament to the enduring spirit of jiu-jitsu and the unbreakable bonds it creates.

Jiu-Jitsu CON, a colossal jiu-jitsu event, not only lived up to its name but surpassed all expectations. It became the largest jiu-jitsu event in history, bringing together practitioners and  competitors from around the globe. The World Master tournament showed that jiu-jitsu isn't restricted by age. Master athletes showcased that the martial art can be a lifelong journey, fostering health, discipline, and mental fortitude at every stage of life. The event was a true celebration of the jiu-jitsu lifestyle. It's not just about training and competing; it's about living and breathing the art on and off the mat.

The gold medalists in the Master 1 and 2 divisions included names like Karen Antunes, Michael Liera Jr., Piter Frank, Manuel Ribamar, Nathalie Ribeiro, and Maria Malyjasiak. However, the standouts of the event extended beyond the Master 1 and 2 divisions. The gold medalists from Master 3 through 7 featured notable names like Bianca Barreto, Josh Hinger, Gabriel Gonzaga, Marcus Norat, Alexandre "Soca" Freitas, Cassio Werneck, Roberto Godoi, Rodrigo Medeiros, and Megaton Dias.
