Nico Maglicic 2026 IBJJF Crown Announcement

2026 IBJJF Crown Announcement

The 2026 Crown is building a phenomenal list of athletes for its fourth edition. Forty-eight world-class competitors will converge inside the famous Long Beach Pyramid on November 8th with hopes of securing one of the most sought after trophies in the sport, as well as the $20,000 cash prize.

Nico Maglicic has officially been announced as the seventh heavyweight Crown contender. Nico intends to continue his unprecedented run by securing the Crown title.

Nico Maglicic - An Australian Star

The Atos Jiu-Jitsu standout has enjoyed a phenomenal calendar year on the major event circuit. His breakout campaign has witnessed him secure the 2025 World No-Gi and the 2026 Gi World Championship heavyweight titles.

Nico has officially become Australia’s first Gi World Champion, and currently holds both Gi and No-Gi heavyweight World titles. His phenomenal success highlights the determination, sacrifice, and gritty mentality that is evident in his competition style. Nico’s long frame and efficient technique has propelled him into the elite-tier of the global competition scene.

Nico enters the heavyweight Crown division with distinct confidence, however, the stacked division presents numerous obstacles. The division already boasts Vinicius Liberati, Fellipe Andrew, Davi Vetoraci, Leo Ferreira, Omar Nada, and Windson Torres with one contender bid remaining.

The event is scheduled for November 8th from the Pyramid in Long Beach, California. Stay tuned to official IBJJF channels for continued updates surrounding the 2026 IBJJF Crown.
