The Tezos IBJJF FloGrappling GP brackets have been released. In the Women’s Heavyweight GP, 5X World Champion Nathiely De Jesus of Rodrigo Pinheiro BJJ will face 3X World Champion Andressa Cintra of Gracie Barra on one side of the bracket. Nathiely will look to get back to form as she returns from a break from competition. Andressa had the best year of her career in 2022 and is aiming to continue to build on her momentum from last year. On the other side of the bracket, 5X World Champion Ana Vieira of Aviv Jiu-Jitsu takes on World and Pan Champion Melissa Stricker of Alliance. Both athletes had impressive 2022 campaigns and are prepared to go for the Women’s Heavyweight GP title in their first tournaments of 2023.
In the Men’s Lightweight GP, 3X Pan Champion Johnatha Alves of AOJ takes on 2023 Europeans bronze medalist Elijah Dorsey of Team Lloyd Irvin. Johnatha has been hard at work alongside his AOJ teammates refining his game as he tries to get to his best form this year. Elijah had an excellent performance at the 2023 Europeans and will look to build off a great start to his black belt career. On the other side of the bracket, European and World No-Gi Champion Andy Murasaki of Atos will face brown belt World Champion Carlos Henrique of Dream Art. Andy has been on a tear in competition as of late and wants to add GP Champion to his growing list of accomplishments. Carlos was promoted to black belt in November 2022, but already has a silver medal at the 2022 Worlds No-Gi to his name.
