CheckMat’s Elder “El Monstro” Cruz will compete in the IBJJF Absolute GP bracket alongside Kaynan Duarte, Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu, Gutemberg Pereira, and many other elite competitors. Elder was promoted to black belt by Lucas Leite following a 2022 brown belt World title. Known for his aggressive and fast paced style, Elder has had great success in taking his opponents down and initiating a top heavy strategy. He’ll look to utilize his skillset in the Absolute GP that goes down on Friday November 18th in Costa Mesa, California.
