Samuel Nagai Replaces Matheus Gabriel In The Lightweight GP

CheckMat’s Samuel Nagai will replace Matheus Gabriel in the IBJJF FloGrappling Lightweight Grand Prix. Following a successful career in the colored belt ranks, Samuel was promoted to black belt in August 2020 by Professor Keiser Girao. Known for his fast paced and submission focused style of jiu-jitsu, Samuel is not only a crowd favorite but has also proven to be an elite black belt competitor through his wins over other highly ranked athletes. As a black belt, Samuel is a Worlds, Pans, and Brazilian Nationals bronze medalist. Currently training under Professor Keiser Girao in Texas, Samuel has continued to develop his game alongside other elite CheckMat competitors. He’ll be joined by Johnatha Alves, Andy Murasaki, and Carlos Henrique on Friday March 3rd in the IBJJF FloGrappling Lightweight Grand Prix. Be sure to catch all of the matches exclusively on FloGrappling.
