Sydney International Open Results: Gracie Barra & GF Team Win Team Titles

The IBJJF returned to Sydney, Australia for the 2023 Sydney International Open on Sunday April 2nd. The event was held at the University Sports & Aquatic Centre, where juvenile, adult, and masters competitors from all over Australia competed in gi and no-gi divisions.
Alliance Jiu-Jitsu Oceania’s Murilo Amaral went 3-0 in Australia, winning lightweight and open class gold medals. Shoya Ishiguro was another standout competitor at the event, competing in both gi and no-gi. He won two gold, one silver, and one bronze medal in the featherweight and open class divisions.
Adele Fornarino won the black belt open class division with one victory. In the no-gi divisions the standout competitor was Roberto Frias of One Purpose BJJ. He won one match at super heavy and two matches in the open class to take double gold without the gi.
