2X World Champion Tainan Dalpra Is The Final Confirmed Athlete For The Crown's Middleweight Division
The AOJ Champion is going for The Crown on November 19th.
The anticipation for the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation's biggest professional event to date, "The Crown," continues to build as the list of elite competitors grows. Today, we are thrilled to announce 2X World Champion Tainan Dalpra as the fourth and final competitor in The Crown’s middleweight division. Though he’s only 22 years old and received his black belt in 2020, Tainan has already established himself as one of the most dominant middleweights of all time. His first major title came at the 2021 Pans, where he won four matches to claim his first major championship gold. Just a few months later, Tainan won his first World title in Anaheim, California, again defeating four champion athletes to take the title. In 2022, Tainan won gold at the Worlds, Pans, and Europeans. This year, he added his second European, his third Pan, and his first Brasileiro gold to his stacked resume. Although Tainan’s titles and sheer amount of wins are impressive enough, what really stands out about his career is the way in which he’s dominated his matches. With 63 wins in IBJJF competition as a black belt and over a 70% submission rate, Tainan has shown time and time again that his techniques work against the highest level opponents in the sport. Not one to rest on his laurels, he’s able to bring new techniques and positions to every tournament he competes in. Will Tainan add the middleweight Crown to his long list of accolades? We will find out on Sunday, November 19th at the Pyramid in Long Beach, California. If you can’t make the event live, be sure to catch the stream on FloGrappling.
