Charleston Fall International Open Results: Alliance & Reaction Claim Top Team Honors
The event took place in South Carolina on Saturday, October 28th.
The 2023 Charleston Fall Open took place on Saturday, October 28th at the North Charleston Athletic Center in South Carolina. Alliance and Reaction were the gi and no-gi team champions of the event, respectively.
Brown belt World Champion Thalys Pontes won the featherweight division in Charleston, taking home his first black belt gold medal. He won his only match via armbar submission.
The standout competitors of the event were Inacio Santos of Reaction MMA / SAS and Thamires Monteiro of CheckMat. Inacio ended his day with four gold medals. He won the ultra heavyweight and absolute divisions both with and without the gi, going 9-0 for the event.
Thamires Monteiro also won the absolute division in gi and no-gi. She won two matches in the gi absolute and two more in th no-gi absolute, posting a perfect 4-0 record.
