The jiu-jitsu community witnessed history in the making during the monumental Jiu-Jitsu CON event that went down in Las Vegas, Nevada. This colossal gathering of BJJ athletes and enthusiasts marked a milestone in the sport's history, drawing over 10,000 athletes from all corners of the globe. The Jiu-Jitsu CON tournament was one of several tournaments that took place during the event. Art of Jiu-Jitsu and Gracie Barra were the gi and no-gi team champions, respectively.

There were four black belt World Champions who competed at Jiu-Jitsu CON. Diego Pato of Art of Jiu Jitsu won three matches to take home featherweight gold. Pato’s teammate, Mayssa Bastos, also took home gold at Jiu-Jitsu CON. Mayssa showcased her exceptional skills in the light-featherweight category, hitting a beautiful barataplata on her way to the top of the podium.

Lucas "Hulk" Barbosa, another black belt World Champion, was a force to be reckoned with in the heavyweight and open class divisions. Hulk lived up to his moniker by smashing through the competition with five impressive victories. This remarkable feat earned him not one but two gold medals, solidifying his status as one of the sport's most dominant athletes.

Gabrieli Pessanha, the 2X double Grand Slam Champion, had yet another spectacular showing at Jiu-Jitsu CON. Pessanha taught a seminar and then proceeded to have four matches, earning her two gold medals.

The no-gi divisions at the Jiu-Jitsu CON tournament were equally electrifying. Deise Leonanjo and Eduardo Zimic stood out as the open class winners in the no-gi categories. 2022 Pan No-Gi Champion Pedro Rocha also brought his A-game to Jiu-Jitsu CON No-Gi, winning the heavyweight division after defeating several tough opponents.
