Nashville Fall International Open Results: Pan Champion Adam Wardzinski Hits All Subs In Tennessee
Adam used his signature butterfly guard to dominate and submit his opponents.
The IBJJF returned to Nashville for the second time in 2023 for the Nashville Fall Open. The Williamson County AG Expo Park was the site of the event, where several athletes put on stellar performances. The standout team of the event was Pedigo Submission Fighting, who took first in no-gi and second in the gi. They were the only team to make the top three in both gi and no-gi.
2023 Pan Champion Adam Wardzinski was the star competitor on Saturday, going 3-0 with three submissions in the gi. Adam used his signature butterfly guard techniques in each of his matches, putting himself in dominant positions where he capitalized with submissions. New black belt Chayse Diekema was the female black belt absolute champion. Chayse won two matches to take gold in the division, her first gold in the gi as a black belt.
Standouts of the no-gi divisions included 2X World Champion Dante Leon and Pan Champion Matheus Diniz. Both Dante and Matheus won two matches in the middleweight and super heavyweight divisions, respectively, to take gold. Inacio Santos, who has been on a tear in competition recently, won yet another no-gi absolute division, defeating three high level opponents to take first place. He also won the ultra heavyweight division earlier in the day, putting his record at 5-0 for the weekend.
