The Orlando Open precedes the Pan Kids event in Kissimmee, Florida this week. A fascinating collection of black belt athletes will converge on the Open Circuit in Orlando to commence an exciting competition agenda. The event is set to commence July 23rd, with all matches airing live on FloGrappling. Let’s preview the event with some of the top black belts you do not want to miss. 

 

Larissa Dias

Adult Female Gi Super-Heavyweight

Although Larissa does not have any opponents in her bracket, she is likely to compete in the absolute division. The back-to-back World and Pan Champion is one of the very best female jiu-jitsu athletes in the world and projects to deliver another resounding performance this week. 

 

Jackson Nagai

Master 1 Male Gi Middleweight - Mat 9, 10:28am

Jackson returns to action fresh off his dominant Asian Championship performance. The Inevat athlete remains one of the most exciting athletes in the world, proven in his Pan title run and World silver medal performance. Jackson is expected to capture gold this week, while showcasing his thrilling style along the way.

 

Mia Funegra

Adult Female Gi Featherweight

Mia is the lone athlete registered in the female featherweight division. It is yet to be seen whether the former light-featherweight World Champion is going to compete in the open class division. Mia did just secure the Los Angeles absolute gold medal just a couple weeks ago. Spectators would surely enjoy watching the reigning Brasileiro Champion and one of the brightest young stars in female jiu-jitsu.

 

Enderson Dias

Adult Male Gi Heavyweight - Mat 11, 10:37am

Enderson is the reigning Pan Champion and World silver medalist. Representing Elementum and Florida jiu-jitsu, Enderson remains the favorite to capture gold in Kissimmee. Fans should expect strong guardplay and a dangerous submission arsenal from the veteran champion.

 

Wallison Oliveira

Adult Male Gi Medium-Heavyweight - Mat 1, 9:54am

Adult Male No-Gi Medium-Heavyweight - Mat 11, 5:40pm

Wallison always delivers a show, no matter where that takes place. This week it will be in both Gi and No-Gi action, as the former No-Gi World Champion is set to compete for multiple gold medals. Wallison continues to be known for his successful No-Gi career, but he remains a  dangerous Gi competitor as well. 

 

Marco Mendes

Adult Male Gi Featherweight - Mat 11, 10:25am

Marco Mendes is set to compete for featherweight gold in the Gi. Many were surprised by his lone Gi registration, as a reigning Pan No-Gi and World No-Gi Champion. Marco is a former Pan bronze medalist in the Gi and a serious threat to secure the gold this week in Kissimmee.

 

Gabriel Costa

Adult Male Gi Medium-Heavyweight - Mat 1, 9:30am

Gabriel Costa of Guigo JJ is back in action in Kissimmee. The Pan bronze medalist and former Brasileiro Champion enters a tough division as the top-seed. Gabriel is a significant threat in any bracket he enters, and consistently delivers exciting performances.

 

Jose Carvalho

Adult Male Gi Super-Heavyweight - Mat 12, 9:54am

Adult Male No-Gi Super-Heavyweight - Mat 2, 5:52pm

Jose Carvalho is a former Pan No-Gi Champion and World and European bronze medalist. The CheckMat athlete is sure to put on a great performance in both Gi and No-Gi divisions this week. Fans should prepare for strong pressure and a relentless work rate from the seasoned veteran.

 

Italo Almeida

Adult Male Gi Light-Featherweight - Mat 2, 9:42am

The Ares BJJ athlete has become a significant force early in his black belt career. Italo is the reigning Brasileiro Champion, who also claims three Open Circuit gold medals as well. The young champion aims at continuing his dominant rookie season with an Orlando Summer Open triumph.

 

Mariana Rolszt

Adult Female Gi Light-Featherweight

Mariana is the lone light-featherweight competitor, meaning her only opportunity to take the mats will come in the absolute division. Fans will surely hope for her inclusion in the open class as Mariana has had consistent success at the sport’s biggest events. 

 

Lucas Calado 

Adult Male Gi Super-Heavyweight - Mat 12, 10:38am

Lucas represents a force on the Open circuit. The ZR Team athlete has seven Open event gold medals in 2026 and looks to add another to his collection in Kissimmee. 

 

Julianna Wong 

Adult Female No-Gi Middleweight 

Julianna Wong of Cicero Costha is registered to make her black belt debut in Kissimeee. Unfortunately for the fans and Julianna, she is the lone middleweight registered. Her inclusion in the open class would provide a great opportunity for fans to celebrate her black belt debut.
