This past weekend, the action spanned two continents, with the European Kids Championship and the Dublin Open both taking place in Ireland alongside the Chicago Spring Open in the United States.

European Kids

The 2026 European Kids brought over 1,800 youth athletes from around the world to Dublin, a remarkable turnout that speaks to the continued growth of jiu-jitsu at the youth level. Among the standout performers, Daniel 220 was dominant in the Teen 2 orange belt middleweight division, finishing all three of his opponents by submission on his way to gold. Gabriel Bastida was another standout youth athlete, securing the Junior 3 orange belt featherweight title, submitting both of his opponents to claim the title.

The female divisions at the European Kids showcased astounding talent and fearsome spirit.  Alisha Abbasi showcased her dynamic submission ability, finishing both of her opponents en route to capturing the Teen 3 Green belt medium-heavyweight gold medal.  GF Team’s Sophia Garcia displayed beautiful back-taking ability, as she submitted two opponents and secured the Teen 3 green belt featherweight title.
