World Champion Fabricio Andrey Confirmed As The First Competitor For The Crown
Hokage will aim to be crowned on Sunday, November 19th at the Pyramid.
2021 World Champion Fabricio Andrey has been unveiled as the inaugural competitor for The Crown, the IBJJF’s biggest professional event to date. Hokage’s first major title came at the 2021 Brasileiros, where he defeated several veteran black belts to conquer the featherweight division. Following his Brasileiros title, Fabricio competed at the 2021 World Championships held in Anaheim, California, where he stepped onto the prestigious black belt stage for the very first time. Despite the pressure, Fabricio won the division in electrifying fashion, submitting 2018 World Champion Shane Jamil Hill-Taylor in the final with a triangle. Since his ascension to the pinnacle of jiu-jitsu, Fabricio Andrey has continued to add to his already impressive list of accolades. Titles at the Brasileiros and Europeans further solidified his status as one of the best featherweights in the sport. Fabricio will bring his fast paced style to the highly competitive 70 kg (154.6 lbs.) division, widely recognized as one of the most stacked weight categories in jiu-jitsu. Stay tuned to the IBJJF social media channels for further announcements regarding additional athletes participating in The Crown. See the following link for more information on this incredible event.
