Ademir Barreto of GF Team represents a veteran competitor who consistently delivers strong performances at the world’s biggest events. The twenty-five year old talent began training jiu-jitsu as a pre-teenager, and maintained his dedication to the craft while becoming a world-class athlete. His resilience, determination, and ability are amongst the very best in the world.

The Crown represents the pinnacle of competition jiu-jitsu. Forty-eight of the world’s best athletes converge across six weight divisions, each with a $20,000 grand prize. The one-night invitation-only event resembles the exclusive top-tier class of the global competition scene.

Ademir, of course, is no stranger to this level of competition. The World Championship finals veteran has experienced the bright lights of the prestigious Pyramid. He understands the heightened anxiety, the level of skill across from him, and the stakes on the line. Ademir’s ability and experience combine to make a legitimate, Crown-worthy contender who remains fixated on the throne.

“I’ve been there before. I know the feeling, and I know what to expect. My experience at this level will definitely help me, but I also believe my style and the way I approach the fight will make a big difference.”

The 2026 Crown featherweight bracket is loaded with talent. From rising prospects to veteran champions, all eight athletes undoubtedly foresee a Crown title in their near future. The GF Team product, however, remains relatively unphased by his potential opponents.

“I don’t worry too much about my opponent. Every guy is dangerous. So, honestly, the bracket doesn’t really matter to me. Lutador luta. Whoever I face, I’ll be ready to do my best and give everything I have.”

Ademir consistently expresses his willingness to challenge the best in the world. The Crown fulfills his wish, with an eight-man bracket featuring world-class competitors. The GF Team standout had decisive words with regard to elite athletes squaring off in a bracket-style invitation-only event.

“I think it’s very important for jiu-jitsu. Events like The Crown bring the best athletes together, and we get to see the best competing against the best. It’s also very important for the next generation. It can help young athletes improve and inspire them to work hard and reach this level. For us as athletes, fighting against the best is a great way to learn, improve, and see what we need to work on. I think everyone wins with events like this.”

Ademir embodies the fighting spirit and mutual respect that, in many ways, defines jiu-jitsu itself. His understanding of high-level competition, dedication to his craft, and willingness to accept the toughest tests has resulted in a revered veteran on the international circuit. A brief glimpse into his mindset and perspective ahead of the November 8th event speaks volumes to his composure and self-assurance.

“I react, trust my instincts, and take whatever opportunities my opponent gives me.”

Ademir’s professional mentality and humble persona keep him grounded. Meanwhile, his precise technique and dynamic athleticism provide him with the confidence to chase major titles. The Ademir seen today is a combination of positive traits assembled through years of jiu-jitsu.

“I’ve watched many great athletes in my career. I always try to learn from people, not only on the mats, but also outside the mats their mindset, their discipline, and how they deal with challenges.”

Through years of world-class competition, Ademir has developed a unique self-trust that directly feeds his confidence. His ability and mental fortitude will certainly be under siege by an elite horde of fellow Crown contenders, while the GF Team representative looks beyond the uncertainty, to the unwavering confidence he has forged through years of high-level competition.

“I think my biggest advantage is that my game is very unpredictable. I feel comfortable in pretty much any situation, and my experience helps me adapt quickly to whatever is happening in the match.”

The 2026 Crown is rapidly approaching with nearly all the contenders officially announced. The featherweight division projects to deliver fireworks, with one of the most stacked brackets in recent memory. However the division plays out, Ademir Barreto’s elite talent and spotlight experience will be on full display.

“I prioritize my game, my mindset, and honestly, just being happy and enjoying the process. I feel like when I’m in a good place mentally and I’m enjoying what I’m doing, I perform my best.”

The event is scheduled for November 8th from the Pyramid in Long Beach, California. Stay tuned to official IBJJF channels for continued updates surrounding the 2026 IBJJF Crown.
