The Third Athlete Confirmed For The Crown’s Heavyweight Division Is 2X World Champion Gustavo Batista
2X World Champion Gustavo Batista will look to capture the first heavyweight Crown.
Gustavo Batista, a 2X black belt World Champion, 4X Pan Champion, 2X European Champion, and Brasileiro Champion, is set to make his mark in the most prestigious professional jiu-jitsu event ever organized by the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation. Hailing from team Atos Jiu-Jitsu, Gustavo has consistently showcased his technical abilities and his will to win at the highest level of the sport since receiving his black belt in 2017. Though Batista came into 2023 with plenty of accolades, this year has definitely been the best of his career. He’s won Pan, Brasileiro, and Worlds gold, compiling an 11-0 record with seven submissions. Gustavo has built a reputation for having one of the most effective guard passing games on the scene. He uses a combination of relentless pressure, patience, and timing to pass the guards of nearly every opponent he comes up against. The inclusion of Gustavo Batista in The Crown's heavyweight division adds another layer of intrigue to the already stacked lineup of competitors. Fans can expect to witness high-level technical exchanges and incredible displays of skill on Sunday, November 19th. If you can't make it to Long Beach to watch the event in person, you can stream the event live on FloGrappling. For more information on The Crown, please visit the following link.
